Understanding the SoleraTM experience Only daylight offers both the varied and constantly varying qualities that make it such an exciting and unique design tool. But with limited glazing options, the human and architectural benefits of daylighting have been difficult to realize, until now. Solera's unique and patented glazing technology enables you to harness the power of daylighting without compromising on aesthetics, longevity, and budget. While daylighting alone possesses the potential for such immense beauty as well as for the harvesting of free energy, the very fact of its variety makes it the most difficult of design elements to visualize and the easiest to misapply. To assist you in visualizing the substantial positive impact that Solera will have on the quality of interior light, we have employed Radiance® to create a few true-to-life Solera experiences.
Radiance® is a modelling tool developed by Lawrence Berkeley Laboratories and is available as freeware from the United States government. Users can preview with uncanny accuracy the impact of different lighting sources on the illumination of interior spaces. LBL's scientists and engineers have produced a visualization tool that allows the application of volumes of scientific and test data to contemplated building designs and material selections for infinitely variable conditions of
